Cherry Tetra 3-4CM A yet-to-be-named species from Southwestern Brazil, the Mato Grosso Red Cherry Tetra is a vibrant fish that has only recently made its way into the aquarium scene. This medium-sized species truly lives up to its name, showcasing a striking reddish-orange body with deep red fins, making it a highly desirable addition for aquarium enthusiasts. In their natural habitat, they thrive in slow-moving, warm, and acidic streams, but they can adapt to a variety of conditions in an aquarium setting. Like many of its relatives, the Red Cherry Tetra prefers to be in groups of five or more and generally coexists peacefully with other similarly sized, non-aggressive fish. To enhance their brilliant colors, it’s beneficial to provide subdued lighting, ample hiding spots with driftwood or plants, and slightly soft water.
